About Us
At Atlantis while on a Carnival Imagination cruise to the BahamasThe concept for MeetOnCruise.com came about while Faraz Qureshi and Eddy Garrido were on a cruise! We had a nice time the first few days of the cruise, but the fun really started when we met some wonderful, like minded people on the last few days of the cruise. So while re-playing the highlights of the trip, we regretted that we didn't meet our new friends earlier in the trip. We asked ourselves, why isn't there an easy way to meet other ship mates before our cruise?
Once back on land, we did some research and discovered there was not an easy way to do this. Most of the cruise websites were cluttered and not easy to navigate. So we cobbled together our personal savings and decided to create a website that cruisers would be proud of.
MeetOnCruise.com was launched as an early beta website in January of 2010. Listening to you, our cruise community, we have continued to improve the website everyday. Thanks to your feedback, we've since launched Roll Calls, Port Guides, Cruise Line and Ship profiles, Reviews, Quick Tips, Log in with Facebook, Photo sharing, Leaderboards and an iPhone app!
With little money to spend on advertising and marketing, we've relied on you to tell your cruise friends. And you have - THANK YOU!
We've also been lucky and have had some press coverage on LA Times, Cruise Radio and The Miami Herald (print). Some of the press have called us Facebook for Cruisers or A Social Network for Cruising, but to us our goal is simple. We are building the best place for cruisers - both experienced and newbies - to get to know each other, store their cruises and share tips, photos and reviews. And we promise that MeetOnCruise will always be free.
Have suggestions or feedback? We'd love to hear them. Email us anytime at hello@meetoncruise.com and one of us will reply. Seriously, we will. Thanks for your support and wishing you many happy days cruising - both at sea and online.
